Privacy Statement

  1. Information Gathered by the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association

    This is the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association’s (“SLOCBA”) online privacy notice. This notice applies only to activities SLOCBA engages in on its website and does not apply to SLOCBA activities that are “offline” or unrelated to the website. SLOCBA collects certain anonymous data regarding the usage of the website. This information does not personally identify users and is gathered to improve the performance of the website. The anonymous data collected by the SLOCBA website can include information such as the type of browser you are using, your IP address and the length of the visit to the website.You may also be asked to provide personally identifiable information on the SLOCBA website, which may include your name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. This information can be gathered when feedback or e-mails are sent to SLOCBA or when you register for services. For certain services, such as event or CLE registrations, you may be required to also provide credit card or other payment account information which the SLOCBA maintains in encrypted form on secure servers. In all such cases you have the option of providing us with personally identifiable information.

    The SLOCBA website may contain links to third party sites and advertisers. SLOCBA is not responsible for the use of cookies, the privacy policies or the content of those sites. If you provide any information to such third parties different rules regarding the collection and use of your personal information may apply. We strongly suggest you review such third party’s privacy policies before providing any data to them.

    SLOCBA takes appropriate steps to ensure data privacy and security including through various hardware and software methodologies. However, SLOCBA cannot guarantee the security of any information that is disclosed online.

  6. Children

    SLOCBA does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Children are not permitted to use the SLOCBA website or services, and SLOCBA requests that children under the age of 13 not submit any personal information to the website. Since information regarding children under the age of 13 is not collected, SLOCBA does not knowingly distribute personal information regarding children under the age of 13.

  8. Modification of the Privacy Notice

    SLOCBA reserves the rights to modify its privacy notice at any time and will notify you by posting an amendment to the privacy notice on the website. Such modifications will become effective on the day they are posted. SLOCBA encourages you to frequently review the privacy notice for any modifications.

  9. Notification of Changes

    SLOCBA may change its privacy notice without notice. If SLOCBA changes its privacy notice, SLOCBA will update the Privacy Notice on the SLOCBA Web site.
