Biography:

I began my legal career in 2006 as a Public Defender in Kansas City, MO.  I worked in the downtown trial office, and I represented indigent clients ranging from DUI and drug cases to robbery, rape, and murder.  Through excellent mentorship and hard work, I became a very successful public defender.  In addition to my job as a public defender, I also worked as an adjunct professor at Baker University in Kansas.  I taught Business Law as well as American History of the Cold War.  In 2010, a Judge challenged me to fulfill my lifelong dream of joining the military, and encouraged me to join the Air Force JAG Corps.

In 2010, I joined the Air Force JAG Corps.  I served as a Captain in the USAF for four years.  My first assignment was Vandenberg AFB here in California.  I spent two years prosecuting cases in the base legal office as well as offering legal assistance to active duty Airmen and veterans.  In 2012, I was hand-picked to run the Vandenberg Area Defense Counsel Office.  I was responsible for providing criminal defense services to over 4,400 Airmen.  My cases took me to Air Force bases all over the West Coast, and I was an extremely effective defense counsel earning several full acquittals for my clients.

In 2014, I made the decision to separate from the Air Force and join the Reserves.  I started Taylor Defense Firm to offer criminal defense services to anyone charged with a crime here in California.  I still provide defense services to military members in need, and I take on a limited number of pro bono clients, primarily younger enlisted members in need of a family lawyer.
